Yes. Welkin mill, where Do It Ourselves is situated enjoys access to a dedicated car park with dozens of free spaces. There are occasions where the mill is very busy and finding a space may be more difficult than usual, but it's very rare that you'd have an issue finding a space.

Very. Although the studio is on the 1st floor, there's a lift just within the main entrance and you can easily avoid stairs if you need to. You just need to have someone with you to operate the lift from outside if you have mobility needs as you can't operate the lift from inside. Or when someone's available, we can call the lift for you. There's a useful trolley in the studio which is fully adjustable and rated for 300kg so you can load up all your gear to make loading in and out easy, too. Just please return the trolley to the place you found it so the next person can use it, too.

Yes. You just need to bring your instruments. There's guitar and keyboard stands, combo amps, a full PA and full drum kit. If you need anything more just get in touch and we can probably work out a solution.

Yes. Even if you want to bring your own producer or engineer, there will always be an experienced recording engineer on hand to help with the specific studio setup. If you're new to recording, you're only recording vocals or you're recording the next Bohemian Rhapsody the DIO engineer will be there to help. We can run the session, set up all the equipment and coach you through your performance, or we can hang back and make the tea and coffee while you and your team get down to business.

The short answer is "No" but read on for the better answer. . . We'd argue that because the spaces we operate are so well equipped, you don't need a permanent space. Why overpay for glorified equipment storage when you can just turn up for your rehearsal knowing you can recall your session on the A&H mixer / interface and all the equipment is well maintained and professional grade, the spaces have been purposely built with proper acoustic treatment and soundproofing, and you can even connect to the mixer via a mobile app to control your individual monitor mix. Yes. Make sure you have your backing track ready (preferably as a high quality ".wav" file) and we can jump straight into recording once you arrive. It doesn't matter if you're a rapper / MC, a pop singer or you're just recording a song for your loved one's birthday, Book the Recording studio and you'll be cracking in no time. As a rule we have a minimum booking slot of 2 hours, but if you're well rehearsed, know your lyrics and the song, we can generally get 3 songs recorded in that time.
